PayneCrest Electric and Communications, Inc. Wins Two 2008 Keystone Awards from AGC-St. Louis

Projects for Pinnacle Entertainment, Chrysler LLC and Pfizer, Inc. Honored

ST. LOUIS - PayneCrest Electric and Communications, Inc. earned two awards at the 2008 Keystone Awards sponsored by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) - St. Louis.  The program honors proficiency in commercial building.  PayneCrest won both categories it entered, with a third entry earning recognition as a finalist.  The Nov. 3, 2008 gala was held at the Millennium Hotel in Downtown St. Louis.

The honored projects were:

Lumiere Place Casino and Hotel

Winner - Project of the Year - Specialty Contractor

Building Construction - $2 Million or More

When awarded, Lumiere Place was the largest electrical contract ever let locally, employing more than 280 union electricians at its peak and tallying more than 400,000 man hours over 18 months.  PayneCrest installed all electrical, fire alarm, voice/data, audio-visual and security systems for a 294-room luxury hotel, casino, five-story parking garage, outdoor pool, fountains, five restaurants and three bars.

Chrysler - RT Body Shop

Winner - Project of the Year - Specialty Contractor

Industrial/Infrastructure Construction - $2 Million or More

In a remarkable display of planning, logistics and execution, PayneCrest overhauled the Chrysler Plant body shop in Fenton, MO in less than 35 days for the production launch of 2008 minivans.  PayneCrest performed electrical demolition and installation of auto assembly tooling cells, including nearly 1,200 pieces of intricate robotics and equipment.

Pfizer CV SUMP Generator and Power Distribution

Finalist - Project of the Year Award - Specialty Constractor

Industrial/Infrastructure Construction - $2 Million or More

The electrical upgrade at Pfizer's Chesterfield campus was so complex that the two pre-qualified electrical contractors declined to bid the work.  PayneCrest more than doubled the power capabilities of the campus to support - without disrupting - Pfizer's expansion of its pilot production of biologic drugs for clinical trials.

Since 2003, PayneCrest has been honored six times by the AGC Keystone Award program - taking home five awards.  "PayneCrest would be six for six in wins, but two of our entries in 2008 competed against one another and the judging panel could only select one," said David Payne, president of PayneCrest.

Founded in 1954, PayneCrest has more than 400 employees and specializes in solution-oriented industrial, commercial and telecom electrical contracting services. More online at www.paynecrest.com.
