PayneCrest Electric and Communications, Inc. Wins Sixth Construction Keystone Award from AGC-St. Louis

PayneCrest Continues to Set Award-Winning Pace in Annual Competition

     ST. LOUIS - Since PayneCrest Electric and Communications began competing in the annual Associated General Contractors (AGC) - St. Louis Construction Keystone Awards in 2002, no subcontractor has won more awards.  This year, the firm won its sixth award for its work on the mammoth Holcim Cement Plant in Ste. Genevieve, Mo.  Holcim competed against another PayneCrest finalist - the River 7000 Buzzi Unicem USA Cement Plant near Festus, Mo.  The Keystone Awards honor proficiency in commercial building.  The honored projects were: 

  • Holcim Cement Plant 

           Winner - Project of the Year - Specialty Contractor

           Industrial / Infrastructure Construction - $5 Million or More

           In managing the largest electrical contract ever awarded locally

           to power the world's largest single-kiln cement plant, PayneCrest 

           distributed and integrated 345,000 volts.  PayneCrest installed enough

           cable to stretch from St. Louis to Denver as well as all process wiring  

           and lighting.

  • River 7000 Buzzi Unicem USA Cement Plant

           Finalist - Project of the Year - Specialty Contractor

           Industrial / Infrastructure Construction - $5 Million or More            With no master schedule, PayneCrest engineered, installed and

           integrated more than 3,600 pieces of machinery and installed   

           power, process controls and fiber communications for the new

           Buzzi Unicem facility on a 2,000-acre site near Festus, Mo. 

           PayneCrest performed on-site reengineering of countless pieces of

           equipment from 15 international vendors when components arrived

           incomplete and partially engineered.

     Since 2002, eight PayneCrest projects have been Keystone finalists, with six winning the top award.
