PayneCrest Electric and Communications Wins Three
Prestigious AGC Construction Keystone Awards In Two Years
ST. LOUIS – PayneCrest
Electric and Communications proficiency for construction solutions has
earned it three prestigious Associated General Contractors (AGC) Construction
Keystone Awards in the past two years. PayneCrest was honored with awards
twice in 2004 for its work on the CitiMortgage project in O’Fallon,
Ill. and its work on The Boeing Co.’s Track II facility at Lambert-St.
Louis International Airport. In 2003, PayneCrest earned a Keystone Award
for its work on the AmerenUE Meramec Power Plant’s coal transfer
terminal in South St. Louis County. The AGC Keystone Awards honor innovation,
safety and overall project delivery excellence.
CitiMortgage
The mammoth 515,000-square-foot CitiMortgage facility was one of the
largest design/build electrical contracts in the region. Armed only with
architectural plans and no electrical drawings, PayneCrest’s pioneering
Computer Aided Drafting CAD trailers became the project’s nerve
center. The trailers churned out more than 150 intricate drawings over
a 90-day period to create a fortress of technology that handles 85 percent
of the data that flows through the world’s largest bank. Working
with a phased opening schedule, PayneCrest precisely sequenced work to
power up segments of the project to allow a seamless consolidation of
CitiMortgage’s dispersed St. Louis operations into a single, state-of-the-art
facility for 5,000 workers.
Boeing Track II Facility
At The Boeing Co.’s $115 million Track II facility at Lambert-St.
Louis International Airport, the U.S. military’s next generation
of jet fighters is being put through its paces to discern its ability
to perform high-tech military strategies. Enabling the technology found
throughout the 250,000-square-foot complex are enormously complex electrical
installations delivered by PayneCrest Electric. The $15 million electrical
contract was executed under stringent military/FAA/Secret Service guidelines
and included a jet fighter plant/hangar/office, three paint booths, two
hush houses, a fuel calibration facility, a seat assembly building and
a fuel farm. PayneCrest installed specialized electrical infrastructure,
took the lead on coordinating the installation of all utilities, used
its CAD trailers to keep work on track, and efficiently deployed manpower
to deliver the project on time and within budget.
AmerenUE Meramec Power Plant’s Coal
Transfer Terminal
As the largest
coal transfer terminal in the Midwest, the construction of the AmerenUE
Meramec Power Plant’s new coal transfer terminal showcased “best
practices” in the construction industry. Working under an intense
10-month construction schedule, PayneCrest Electric expedited precise
engineering drawings, orchestrated the optimal use of construction crews,
reduced overall costs, and completed work under very hazardous conditions
with no injuries on the job. Without disrupting the 24/7 operations of
the Meramec Power Plant, PayneCrest engineered and built advanced electrical
systems to power conveyer belt motors and monitors as well as automation
and coal processing devices, and completed the project on time and under
budget.
PayneCrest provides complete electrical and communications services for
industrial and commercial projects. The company is ranked among the largest
Metro St. Louis electrical contractors. Its major clients include Ameren
UE, Anheuser-Busch, Boeing, CitiMortgage, Daimler Chrysler, Ford Motor
Co., General Motors Co., and Mallinckrodt, among others.
