Phase one of the Cortex (Center of Research Technology and Entrepreneurial Expertise) project begins the most ambitious effort ever in St. Louis to develop research space to retain startup biotech companies and attract larger biotech companies to the region. PayneCrest’s engineering prowess delivered power distribution, tenant finish, voice & data, fire alarm and security systems. The laboratory environment requires intense power needs and is fed with parallel 3000 amp service from AmerenUE. The site also has a 150- kilowatt generator for safety and tenant special power needs.
