BJC HealthCare
22 Operating Rooms, central sterilization, administrative offices and design/build of the first IMRIS magnetic imaging facility in the U.S. St. Louis, Mo.

PayneCrest shaved three months from the schedule in delivering a complex series of projects for BJC HealthCare, including the design/build installation of the first Intraoperative Magnetic Resonance Imaging Suite (IMRIS) in the U.S. The highly advanced IMRIS imaging technology is mobile, allowing surgeons to obtain high-quality images during surgery without moving the patient. Working in an extremely tight site, PayneCrest installed IMRIS and wrapped the suite and two associated neurosurgical suites in a copper foil radio frequency shield to ensure integrity of magnetic imaging. In addition, the two-year-long project included installing power, fire alarm, radio frequency identification, data cabling, a nurse call system, specialized lighting for IMRIS and 22 operating rooms, a central sterilization facility and administrative offices. All the work was performed without disrupting surgical operations in adjacent rooms.
